My neighbor Norm saw my tape wall and said something I can't shake
Norm came by last Thursday to return a hedge trimmer. He stood in my basement for a minute, looked at my wall of about 400 cassettes, and asked why I keep the hissy ones. Told him some of those hissy ones are the only copies left of my dad's bar band from 1981 in Toledo. He goes "then they're not tapes, they're the only copy of a night that happened." Now I can't walk past a thrift bin without checking the blanks for someone's basement show or a church choir practice. Do you keep the rough ones or trade them off for cleaner stuff?
