Picked up a used Sony Walkman at a garage sale for $5 and it ate my favorite mixtape
I found an old Sony WM-FX290 at a yard sale in Springfield last Saturday for five bucks and thought I struck gold. Got it home, put in my carefully recorded 90-minute TDK tape, and within 30 seconds the player just started chewing the ribbon. Is there a way to salvage the tape or am I out that whole mix for good?

Have you tried carefully winding the tape back with a pencil yet?

A pencil worked for me once when my cassette player ate the tape. Might save you from having to rewind by hand if the player is still touchy.
