I kept my whole shoebox collection on a shelf near the vent in my old apartment in Buffalo and the cases felt fine, so I figured it was safe. Then I played a tape my sister made me and the pitch slid all over the place, and a guy at a flea market told me heat does that slowly so you never notice until it is too late.
