Serious question, heard a guy at the flea market in Akron say his tapes got ruined by one bad deck
Was digging through a crate of cassettes at a flea market in Akron last Saturday and the seller told me he lost about 40 tapes in one afternoon because his deck had a magnetized head he never cleaned. He said the high end just fell off tape by tape and he didn't notice until a whole box sounded muffled. Now I'm second guessing every deck I've ever played my collection on. How do you actually check for magnetized heads before you trust a new deck with anything good?
