That tape was recorded at the wrong speed and I didn't know for 10 years

Pulled out a box of old tapes from my parents' basement last month. Put on a mix I made in high school and everything sounded weird. Slow and low. Thought the player was dying. Took me three days to realize I'd recorded the whole thing on a deck that was running slow. Checked it with a 60 Hz test tone I found online. The deck was off by about 4%. Has anyone else ever gone back and realized their old recordings were completely off speed?

Did you ever figure out if all your old mixes were ruined or just that one? I had a similar thing happen with a live show I taped back in the 90s, took me like five years before I realized every bootleg I made was a half step flat.

Come on, is a half step flat really that big a deal?
