Bought a $40 chainmail scrubber and it saved my skillet big time

I was fighting with stuck on bits after making some bacon with brown sugar glaze and nothing worked. Got one of those chainmail scrubbers from Amazon for like $38 and it took off everything without messing up my seasoning. Way better than the plastic scrapers I was using before. Does anyone else use these or just go with salt and oil?

Borrowed my friend's chainmail scrubber once and she swore it fixed her grandmother's cast iron after a burnt chili disaster.

Wait, you're telling me she used a chainmail scrubber on her grandma's cast iron and it actually survived? That sounds like some wild recovery mission. I would've sworn that kind of scrubber would shred the seasoning on a pan that old and fragile. But I guess if it worked for a burnt chili disaster, maybe there's hope for all those crusty pans people give up on. Was it a total nightmare to get the burnt chili off before she tried the chainmail?
