Chainmail scrubber was my best $18 purchase this year

I kept seeing people in here recommend chainmail scrubbers for cleaning cast iron so I finally grabbed one off Amazon for like 18 bucks. First time using it I was amazed how fast it stripped off stuck on eggs without messing up my seasoning. My old nylon scrubber just couldn't handle the same job. Has anyone else found a tool that made them wonder why they waited so long?

I was totally on the other side of this for a long time. I saw people raving about chainmail scrubbers and honestly thought they were overhyped, you know? But then I finally gave in (after ruining one too many sponges on burnt cheese) and yeah, total game changer. For real though, the way it cleans off stuck on bits without wrecking your seasoning is kind of magic. Wish I hadn't been so stubborn about it for like a year.

@the_olivia so the chainmail actually kept your seasoning intact?

@the_olivia I get why people love them but mine just scratches my pans no matter how careful I am. Not ruining sponges is nice but I'd rather use a bamboo brush and a little elbow grease. Guess I'm the odd one out on this one.
