Hit the 50 season mark on my favorite skillet and it finally clicked
I've been using this one 10 inch Lodge for about 4 years now, mostly cooking bacon and cornbread. Last week I counted and realized I've seasoned it 50 times, not counting the factory coat. I did the egg test this morning and it slid right off with zero oil, which never happened before that 40th seasoning or so. Has anyone else noticed a big jump in performance after a certain number of coats or am I just getting lucky?

You got 50 seasons on a pan in 4 years?

Do the math on that, that's like seasoning it every month or so. I bet the surface is slicker than a fresh Teflon pan by now.
