I stopped using soap to clean my pan for a full month

Everyone says a little soap is fine now, but I wanted to test the old way. I just used hot water and a stiff brush for every clean. After 30 days, the seasoning felt thicker and cooking eggs got easier. Has anyone else tried a long no-soap run and seen a difference?

Always thought soap was a must for a clean pan. Your post convinced me to give the hot water scrub a real shot. The difference in how food releases is honestly surprising.

Honestly, the soap thing is overblown. My grandma never used it and her pans were perfect. I skip soap most of the time, just a real hot rinse and a wipe. The seasoning builds up way faster. Stuff just slides right off. Feels like a non-stick pan without the chemicals.
