My grandma's salt scrub trick sounded insane, but it saved my 12 inch skillet

She told me to scrub a stuck-on mess with coarse salt and a dry towel back in 2019, I laughed it off, then after three failed seasons in my Philadelphia kitchen I tried it and now I never reach for soap first, has anyone else gotten a family tip that actually held up?

Salt and a dry towel works because it grinds off the crud without stripping the seasoning. Also try warming the pan first, it makes the salt bite in better.
