Question about using a metal spatula versus a plastic one

I used a plastic spatula for years but switched to a thin metal one after reading a forum post. The metal one scrapes the pan surface way better and actually helps build the seasoning over time. Anyone else make this switch and notice a difference?

Metal ones are fine if you're not digging into the pan.

Ha, I mean is it really that serious? I get what @hart.ryan is saying but honestly it's not like we're digging for gold in the pan. A metal spatula is fine unless you're literally trying to chip the seasoning off with a hammer.
