Stopped by a flea market in Ohio and saw a Griswold pan covered in rust and crud
There was this #8 skillet sitting under a pile of old license plates, asking 15 bucks. The guy said it was junk because it had rust spots and old burned-on grease, so I grabbed it. Spent about 2 hours with a vinegar soak and steel wool to get the rust off, then did 3 rounds of seasoning in my oven. It looks better than my modern Lodge now. Anyone else find good deals on old iron at flea markets?

Vinegar soak might have stripped some of that old seasoning you actually wanted.

Honestly, that's the thing with these old fleamarket finds, people just see junk and don't realize the potential. @richard_shah's got a point about the vinegar, but it's like the whole idea of something being 'worth saving' vs just tossing it, ya know?
