I finally crossed 100 entries in my cereal milk notebook, one I started back in March after a cornflake debate with my buddy in Tulsa. The top score so far isnt any fancy granola or limited edition flavor, its plain old Cinnamon Toast Crunch at an 8.5 for milk texture alone. That sugar coating does something to the fat content that thickens the milk just right, better than any of the chocolate ones I rated. Has anyone else kept a running tally like this, or am I the only one weird enough to rank 100 leftover milks?
Ranking 100 leftover milks puts you in a very small club, and I say that as a guy who once rated 14 different gas station hot chocolates on a road trip (my wife still brings it up at dinner parties). Something about Cinnamon Toast Crunch does hit different though, that coating basically turns 2% into whole milk by the time you're done. I've never kept a formal notebook, but I do have a mental tier list, and CTC sits right at the top with Frosted Flakes as a close second. Cocoa Puffs are overrated for milk purposes and I will die on that hill. Keep the tally going, 100 is rookie numbers, you've got a real research project on your hands now.
