My cheap kitchen scale died mid-pour and I finally nailed my Cinnamon Toast Crunch milk rating
So last Thursday I was doing my usual thing, pouring the milk, weighing the bowl before and after so I can keep my little notes straight. My $12 scale from the grocery store just blinked out on me right in the middle of it. Dead. No warning, just gone. I stood there in my kitchen in Toledo looking at a half empty bowl and a blank screen, kind of annoyed because I had a good pour going. So I did it the old way, eyeballed the milk to cereal ratio, which I never trust. Turns out eyeballing worked better than I ever gave it credit for. The leftover milk came out at a solid 8 out of 10, sweet but not syrupy, with that little cinnamon tingle at the end and a nice thin texture. I wrote it down on a sticky note so I don't lose it. Now I'm wondering if I've been overthinking the scale this whole time. Has anyone else dropped the weighing thing and just gone by feel, or am I about to make a huge mistake with my notes?
