My coworker said she spends $600 a month on takeout and I couldn't stop thinking about it
Last week during lunch at my desk in Denver, my coworker mentioned she spends around $600 a month on dinner takeout because she works late and never has food ready. That number stuck with me all day. I used to do the same thing until about four months ago when I started cooking one big pot of something on Sunday nights. This week it was a bag of dried black beans, a can of diced tomatoes, and some wilted kale from the back of my fridge, all dumped in the slow cooker before work. Total cost was maybe $4 and it made five dinners. I am not saying I never order out anymore but knowing there is a pot of beans waiting at home makes it way easier to skip the delivery app. What is your go to cheap meal when you get home at 8pm and have zero energy?
