Dropped a 40-top order on the pass during Saturday rush

Saturday night, 8:45pm, we had a 40-top walk in and I was expo. A server handed me a ticket stack and I fumbled it, all 14 tickets scattered on the floor with sauces and garnish splatter. The kitchen went quiet for a second, then I yelled out the order verbally to each station and re-fired everything from memory. Took about 15 minutes of chaos but all 40 plates went out hot and correct. Has anyone else had to recover from a ticket pileup like that, or do you have a system to keep tickets organized when the pass gets slammed?

Holding tickets in a vertical strip works for me, one hand keeps the order, other hand calls out. You got lucky with that memory save, I would have been digging through the floor trying to match sauces to plates.
