Had a 5 gallon stockpot full of stock tip over on me yesterday
I was at the restaurant prepping for Friday service and had this huge pot of chicken stock cooling on the back burner. Some rookie cook bumped into the stove handle while reaching for a hotel pan and the whole thing came crashing down onto the floor. Stock went everywhere across the tiles, under the line, and I swear it even hit the walk-in door 10 feet away. Took me and two dishwashers 20 minutes to mop it all up and we lost like 4 gallons of liquid gold. Has anyone else had a big kitchen spill that just set your whole prep back?

Respectfully, gotta disagree. That's what happens when you leave a hot stockpot on the back burner near the stove handle. Should've been moved to a cold surface or a cart before the rush. Lesson learned the hard way.

Is it really that deep though? People make mistakes in a busy kitchen, seems like an overreaction to call it a "lesson learned the hard way" over a pot.
