Hit 1,000 covers in a single shift and I'm still sore a week later

Last Saturday we had a huge charity event at the restaurant, and somehow my station alone did 1,000 covers from 5pm to midnight. I've been doing this 8 years and never cracked 800 before. My feet felt like bricks by hour 6 and I dropped a whole tray of scallops right in the middle of the rush. Has anyone else hit a wild number like that and just stood there wondering how your body held up?

Yeah I've been noticing that the more we push ourselves in these crazy shifts, the more it shows how far our bodies can actually bend before they snap. Makes you wonder what the real limit is on just how much hustle one person can handle before something gives.

Is it possible that the real limit isn't how much we can push ourselves but how much we can ignore what our bodies are telling us? I feel like every time I hit that wall, it's not my muscles giving out first, it's my brain just checking out completely. We treat being tired like something to beat instead of a warning sign, you know? There's this weird pride in saying you ran on 4 hours of sleep for a week straight, but that's honestly just breaking down your system slowly. The limit probably isn't a hard number either, it shifts depending on stress, diet, even just how much water you drank that day. Maybe the real hustle isn't about how much you can take, but knowing when to tap out before you do permanent damage.
