My sous chef swore I was salting my pasta water wrong for 2 years
He kept saying I needed to add the salt after the water boils, not before. Finally tried it his way last month and my pasta actually came out seasoned all the way through instead of just on the surface. Has anyone else had a dumb kitchen habit that took forever to break?

Pasta water is the one thing I was doing wrong too and now everything tastes better.

Right, because who needs free starch when you can just dump it down the drain like a savage. Took me way too long to realize the water isn't just dirty, it's liquid gold for your sauce. Now I'm paranoid about not saving enough and end up with a mug of pasta water in my fridge like a weirdo.
