My walk-in fridge gave out during a 200-person wedding last Saturday
I was in the middle of plating appetizers when I heard the compressor make a weird grinding noise and stop. The temperature started climbing fast, and I had about $800 worth of prepped proteins and sauces in there. My heart just sank. We had to scramble, moving everything we could into the smaller reach-in units and packing the rest in ice from the bar. It threw our whole timing off for the main course. The repair guy said the motor was shot and couldn't get a part until Monday. Has anyone found a good, quick-response refrigeration service in the Atlanta area for emergencies like this?

Honestly, how could you even avoid that? Equipment fails at the worst time, it's just part of the job. I've had good luck with CoolPro in a pinch, they have a 24/7 line and got to me on a Sunday once. It's not cheap for the emergency call, but saving that much product makes it worth it. Maybe keep their number on the wall for next time.
