That Wednesday service where everything went wrong at once
I had a ticket come in for a 40-cover birthday party and the walk-in freezer died that morning, plus my saucier called out with the flu. Anyone else have a day where the universe just decided to test you?

My worst was the Valentine's Day dinner rush when the entire POS system crashed and I had to hand-write 60 checks in the middle of a packed dining room. The dishwasher quit mid-shift too so we were scraping plates in the back sink like savages.

2 AM shift at the Cheesecake Factory when the ice machine died and we had to send a busboy to the gas station every 15 minutes for bags of ice. By hour 3 the bar was mixing drinks with melted ice water and a customer sent back a margarita because it tasted like "dirty fish tank." We were scooping snow from the parking lot into soda bins by closing time. Did your hands cramp up from writing all those checks or did you just black out from adrenaline?
