Can we talk about how customers act when you fix their ancient fireplace?
I had this old lady in Toledo last month watch me clean her 1940s chimney and then tell me I did it wrong because I didn't use a wire brush like her husband did. Has anyone else had a customer try to tell you how to do your job right in the middle of it?

Oh man, it's like people think because they owned a thing for 40 years they're suddenly certified experts on it. That same ego is why my dad still argues with mechanics about his 1985 truck.

You ever notice the longer someone's owned something, the less they actually know about how it works?

@elizabeth_gonzalez your dad sounds like my neighbor who argues with the GPS about the best route because he's been driving the same way since 1987. Thats the thing though, owning something forever just means you've gotten real good at ignoring how broken it actually is. Its like my grandpa with his ancient tractor, he'll tell you every bolt by name but still needs a mallet to start it. By the time you've owned something that long, you're less an expert and more just stubbornly attached to the chaos.
