Finally got my camera setup right for before-and-after photos

Honestly, for years I just used my phone and the pictures were always dark or blurry inside a flue. Last month I bought a cheap GoPro knockoff called the 'ActionCam 4' and a small LED light bar. Tbh, the difference is huge, especially for showing customers the creosote buildup in their chimney in Portland. Has anyone else found a good, cheap camera setup that holds up to soot?

Nice. Good lighting makes all the difference for sooty flues. My old point-and-shoot finally gave up the ghost from the grit.

Cameras dying from soot seems like a stretch. That stuff wipes right off with a cloth. Maybe the old gear was just worn out anyway. Phones and cameras are tougher than people give them credit for. Seen way worse conditions without a total failure. Just sounds like an excuse to buy new tech.

My old phone camera just couldn't handle the dark flue either.
