That one Tuesday where everything went wrong with a bird nest
I had a call last Tuesday from a lady in Springfield who said her fireplace was smoking back into the living room. Got up there and found a massive bird nest fully packed into the flue, must have been three feet deep and took me an hour to pull out. Has anyone else dealt with a nest that big after a dry spring?

Gotta say I feel your pain with a big nest. Pulled one out of a dryer vent last summer that looked like a whole family of birds had built a mansion in there. Took me almost two hours and I ended up with twigs in my hair and bird poop on my face, which was a great look for the grocery store run later. Dry spring really gets them going, I guess they're desperate for spots like that.

Ha, @wesleypatel knows the struggle all too well by the sound of it. Had a similar mess once where I ended up with a face full of what I can only politely describe as "bird deposit" and spent the rest of the day smelling like a barn. That's the price you pay for being the one who climbs up to clear the flue, I guess. Dry springs really do make them bold, they'll cram a nest into any dark hole they can find. Did yours leave any other little surprises behind in your dryer vent, or was it just the usual chaos and a lot of dust?
