This week was a total disaster from start to finish

I had three chimney sweeps booked for Tuesday and every single one fell through. First guy called in sick, second one showed up with the wrong size brushes, and the third just never answered his phone. I spent almost 4 hours rescheduling everyone and had to explain to two angry customers why their appointments got pushed back. Has anyone else had a week where everything just falls apart like that?

Three things to do right now if this keeps happening. Stack your backups by booking three sweeps for the same time slot and keep their numbers in a group chat so you can ping all three at once if someone bails. Also start charging a small booking fee that gets refunded only when they actually show up, that filters out the flakes real quick. The angry customers are rough but most people understand if you call them first with a specific new time instead of waiting for them to call you. Have you tried using a scheduling app that sends automatic reminders to the tradespeople the day before?

Booking three at once sounds wasteful but it actually works, just stagger their arrival times by 15 mins so you don't end up with three guys in the driveway. The booking fee trick is gold, even five bucks stops most of the no-shows.
