Wasted $300 on a so-called 'premium' brush kit that fell apart in 2 months

I got suckered into buying that fancy carbon fiber brush set from ChimneyKing Pro last fall. The handle split right at the ferrule on the second job, and the bristles started shedding like crazy after about 30 flues. Shoulda stuck with my old steel wire set from Grainger that cost $60 and lasted 8 years. Anyone else get burned by overpriced gear that didnt hold up?

and the worst part is these companies know exactly what they're doing, betting on people wanting the shiny new thing instead of the tried and tested gear that actually works. i swear half the price tag is just marketing hype and a fancy box, not better materials or construction. at this point i'd rather buy the cheap stuff and replace it twice as often than get burned on another "premium" failure like that.

Used to defend the premium stuff but yeah, this changed my mind.
