Went with the rotary kit over the old rods on a dirty flue in Denver, wish I hadn't

The flex rod setup was $180 more and I figured the rotary would eat through the creosote faster, but it tangled up on a 40-degree offset and I spent two hours fishing it out, has anyone else had better luck with a stiff wire brush on those angled sections?
