Worst day I ever had was a creosote log that fell apart in a flue in St. Louis
Spent 4 hours fishing chunks out of a customer's fireplace because a cheap log broke into pieces mid-burn. Has anyone else dealt with those logs crumbling and jamming things up?

Isn't it possible the problem was more about how it was installed or the draft conditions rather than the log itself? I've used plenty of those with no issues.
