Comparison of my electric lawn mower vs gas one for neighborhood emissions

I swapped my gas mower for a cheap electric model last spring after a neighbor complained about fumes while we were both out cutting grass. The electric one is quieter and doesn't leave that gas smell, but it needs a charge halfway through my yard. Anyone else notice a big difference switching to electric tools for their own property?

Did your half-acre suddenly turn into a marathon race too? I timed mine and it's like the battery knows exactly where the halfway line is and just gives up. At least now I get a valid excuse for stopping to "let the grass settle" while I wait for a recharge.

Tbh I read something the other day about how battery mowers basically have a mind of their own once you hit the 45 minute mark. Apparently it's something to do with the voltage drop as the battery drains, so it cuts out even when there's still a tiny bit of juice left. @phoenixh74 you might be onto something about the battery knowing where the halfway line is, because mine does the exact same thing right when I'm about to finish the back section. I've started charging it up while I have a coffee and then just finishing the rest after, it's almost like a built in break timer. Never thought I'd get so worked up about battery life on a lawnmower but here we are.
