Found out my neighborhood's solar co-op saved 40 tons of CO2 in year one

I was scrolling through our local community page and saw the update from the solar co-op we joined back in January. Turns out the 12 homes that installed panels together cut 40 tons of emissions in just the first year. Has anyone else seen numbers like that from a group install?

40 tons is a lot but I wonder how much of that is offset by the manufacturing and shipping of all those panels in the first place. Those things have a carbon footprint too, you know, from the silicon mining to the factory work to the truck rides across the country. Feels like we need the full lifecycle numbers to really know if it's a win or just a feel good number. Not saying it's bad, just wondering if anyone's done that math on a group install before.

That's really encouraging to hear, I'm glad it worked out so well for you all.
