Neighbor's leaf blower chat turned into a compost swap in Portland
I was out raking last Tuesday and this older guy across the fence kept staring at my pile, so I asked if he wanted the leaves for his garden beds. He said he'd trade me a bucket of his worm castings for them, and now we've got a little system going every week. Has anyone else gotten someone in their neighborhood to start sharing yard waste or compost instead of bagging it?

Oh we totally have that going with our alley neighbor, she brings us her grass clippings and we give her our bunny bedding since the compost bin can't keep up. It's honestly the best deal ever because I hate bagging anything, and her tomatoes come out amazing every summer so she's clearly doing something right with my stuff. The whole block has started leaving piles in the alley with sticky notes now, it's like a little free trade market but for dirt.
