Question about switching to a heat pump water heater
I installed one in my Portland home expecting lower bills, but my winter electric use spiked. Some say it's the cold basement air, others blame my old wiring. Anyone have a fix?

Had the same issue with my unit in a chilly garage. Lowering the thermostat setting on the backup electric element made a huge difference for my bills. That simple tweak let the heat pump do most of the work again.
