Rant: That city planner I met at the bus stop made me rethink my whole neighborhood's lack of bike lanes
He said they could have added two protected bike lanes for the cost of one road repaving project on Main Street, so why don't we ever push for that at town meetings?

Just showed up to a town meeting last month with a printout of what bike lanes cost versus road resurfacing. Got two lanes added to the next repaving schedule.

Yeah that guy is right, just show up at a council meeting with some basic numbers and cost comparisons from the city's own budget. It takes 5 minutes to ask "hey why is this million dollar repaving not including bike lanes?
