Yeah, it's funny how a quick test drive can completely flip your view. I used to say the same stuff about them just being golf carts for tech guys. Quiet and no gas stops are nice, but is it really that big a deal? The power still comes from somewhere, often a coal plant. What about long road trips where you wait an hour to charge? My neighbor had his battery replaced and it cost more than my used car. It feels like swapping one set of problems for another.
