TIL my neighbor's tip about watering succulents less was actually spot on

I was killing every plant I touched so my neighbor told me to water my echeveria only once every three weeks and now it's actually growing for the first time in a year - has anyone else been overwatering their succulents this whole time or just me?

Patricia's right that it's just a plant, but honestly there's something about finally getting it right after killing a bunch of them... it makes you feel like you've cracked some secret code. Overwatering is probably the number one mistake people make, they think more water equals more love. But succulents are basically desert creatures that store water in their leaves, so they thrive on neglect. Your neighbor gave you solid advice and now you're in the club of people who know the trick.
