Unpopular opinion: I stopped driving to the grocery store for small trips and it cut my gas bill by $40 a month
I used to hop in my truck for any little thing-even if I just needed milk and bread. My store is like 1.2 miles down the road, so it never seemed like a big deal. But last spring I started walking or biking for those quick runs, mostly because I was tired of idling at the drive-through exit. Turns out, I was making 5 or 6 of those short trips every week. Now I grab my backpack and go on foot unless I'm stocking up for the week. The cold mornings actually make me move faster, and I don't feel guilty about burning fuel for 10 minutes of errands. Has anyone else tried cutting out the short drives and noticed a real difference in their carbon footprint or wallet?

I used to roll my eyes at people who acted like a short drive was a huge deal, but honestly this is kinda convincing me. Might have to try it for my own wallet lmao.
