Was skeptical about carbon offsets for years, now I'm not so sure after crunching the numbers on my own flights
I used to think offset programs were just greenwashing until I looked into a specific project in Kenya that distributes clean cookstoves. My last round trip to Denver cost $28 to offset, and I tracked the actual carbon reductions through their third party audit. Am I overthinking this or do offsets actually work for individuals?

That "airlines keep burning fuel" thing is what I used to believe too, honestly. But then I actually read the audit reports for a cookstove project and saw how each stove cuts a family's emissions by like 3 tons a year, which is way more than my flight. So yeah, offsets aren't perfect but I think they do something real if you pick the right ones.

dude the real issue is offsets let airlines keep burning fuel instead of fixing planes
