A guy at the Rockford plant told me to stop babying my finishing pass, and he was right
When I started running a Haas VF-2 back in 2016, an old hand named Dale told me to quit leaving .02 on the wall and just trust the cutter to take it in one clean pass. I ignored him for about 6 months because it felt wrong, until a job came through with a tolerance of plus or minus .0005 and my two-pass habit kept drifting out. Switched to his way and my scrap rate on that part dropped from about 8 in 20 to 1 in 20. Anyone else got an old timer tip you wish you had just listened to sooner?
