Had a major coolant line blowout on our old Haas VF2 last Tuesday
Honestly, I always thought the factory hose clamps were fine and never bothered checking them. The line split right at the pump fitting and dumped about 15 gallons of coolant all over the shop floor before I could hit the e-stop. My foreman just looked at me and said 'told you to check those every quarter'. What's your go-to method for checking and replacing coolant lines before they fail?

Ugh, that's the worst sound in the world. I check lines every time I do a filter change, which is about every 500 hours. Feel for any soft spots or bulges, and look for any cracks right at the fittings. Those factory clamps are junk, swap them out for constant-tension ones when you do the hose. It's a cheap fix compared to the mess you just had.

Our shop's floor got baptized by a coolant geyser last year. I just do a quick squeeze test on all the lines every Monday morning now, looking for anything that feels weak. It's a five minute job that saves you a five hour cleanup.

Oh man, I saw a video where a guy used a pressure tester on cold hoses to find weak spots before they blow. Seems like a solid move after what you went through.
