Our shop floor debate over weekend overtime for big orders is getting heated

The plant down the road landed a huge contract and now our management wants us to work Saturdays to help with overflow. Half the crew is all for it, saying the extra cash is worth it and it keeps local business strong. They point out that without this work, hours might get cut later. The other half is pushing back hard, arguing that weekend shifts burn people out and mess with family time. I've done these crunch periods before, and yes, the paycheck is nice, but by Sunday you're just wiped. It feels like we're choosing between short-term gain and long-term wear on the team. How do you all handle these sudden overtime pushes? Is it ever worth the grind?

Set clear limits like no back-to-back weekends, @fionas39 saw the burnout.

Back at my old warehouse job, we had a similar crunch time last fall. Honestly, the extra money was good, but after three Saturdays in a row, people started calling in sick. Tbh, it messed with our team vibe because we were all tired and grumpy. Ngl, management promised it was temporary, but it dragged on for months. In the end, the burn out wasn't worth the extra cash for most of us.

Sounds like @andrew916's limits would've killed our bonus checks.
