Saw a guy at a trade show in Milwaukee that changed my tool setup

Went to the fabtech thing last month and watched this old timer run a 5 axis with just a laptop and a manual pulse generator. No pendant, no fancy rig, just a $150 MPG he mounted on a swivel arm he made from scrap. He told me he mapped all his origin points with a probe he built himself, saved him like 2 hours a shift. I went home and copied the swivel arm idea for my Haas, now my back doesnt hurt after long runs. Has anyone else ditched the standard pendant for a homemade mount or a custom MPG setup?
