Gotta love how kids make you see everyday tools in a whole new light. It's funny how we get so used to using stuff for one specific thing that we forget they're just tools that can do all sorts of measuring or clamping or whatever.

That's interesting, but I'm a bit confused. Calipers are for precision measurement, like checking the thickness of a sheet of metal. When you talk about measuring stuff with a teacher, it's usually simpler things like length or volume with rulers and cups. Maybe you meant a different tool?
