Debate: Should you fix bugs immediately or wait until the end of the project? Got told both ways

My old mentor said to fix a bug the second you find it, like within 5 minutes of testing. But last week a senior dev told me to write it down and move on, saying fixing it later saves time chasing rabbit holes. I tried his way on a small project with like 12 issues and it actually worked, but now I'm worried about bigger projects. Like if you ignore a logic error in week 1, don't you risk building 6 more features on shaky ground? Which camp are you in, and has someone's feedback made you switch your whole process?

Oh man, that shaky ground thing is exactly what scared me into fixing stuff right away too.

@taylor.mary that "shaky ground" feeling is rough. What exactly was the moment that finally pushed you to take action?
