My first website went live with all the wrong links

I was sitting in a coffee shop in Austin last Saturday when a friend texted saying my portfolio site was broken. Turns out I copied the same link for all three project buttons. I spent 20 minutes fixing it while my iced coffee got watery. Has anyone else missed something embarrassingly basic before launch?

Happened to me last week with a contact form that was sending everything to my spam folder instead of my inbox. I get the frustration but honestly this stuff is part of the process. You catch it now instead of having a client email you about it six months later. The people who never mess up are probably not shipping anything at all. Better to launch with a few broken links than to keep polishing forever and never put it out there. Fix it and move on, you learned something and your site works now.

I mean, that's one way to look at it, but I don't know if shipping with broken links is always the better move. Sometimes it just makes you look sloppy to the first few people who see it, and first impressions are hard to shake. Maybe it's just me, but I'd rather hold off a little longer than put out something that's half-broken.
