Random guy at a coffee shop helped me debug my first Python script

I was stuck on this for loop for like 2 hours at a Starbucks near my place. This dude sitting next to me saw me frustrated and asked if I wanted a hand. He literally just added a colon I missed and my whole program ran. I felt so dumb but he was super chill about it, just said 'we all start somewhere lol'. Been 3 weeks and I still think about that moment whenever I get stuck. Anyone else have a stranger help them out like that?

Oh man, I have to push back on that hard. A stranger stopping their own day to help someone they don't know is honestly a bigger deal than just fixing a typo. It's about taking the time to be kind and reassuring when you're feeling dumb, and that kind of simple encouragement can actually make someone stick with coding instead of giving up. You might see it as minor but those little moments of human support are how most of us keep going.

I mean... I get why that sticks with you but honestly it sounds like he just pointed out a typo. That's less about being a mentor and more about having fresh eyes see what you've been staring at too long.
