Spent 4 hours debugging a missing semicolon in JavaScript

I was working on a simple calculator app for my first real project. It took me almost 4 hours to figure out why my function wouldn't run. Turns out I forgot a semicolon after a variable declaration. I felt really dumb but also relieved when I spotted it. Has anyone else spent way too long on a tiny syntax error like this?

@the_rose that's the thing though, ego has a way of sneaking up on you. we all think we've got it figured out until we don't.
