Unpopular opinion: coding bootcamps push you too fast through the basics

I did a 12 week bootcamp in Austin last year and we spent maybe 3 days on loops and conditionals before moving to React. By week 8 I couldn't even explain a for loop without Googling it. Are there any beginner friendly resources that actually force you to slow down and practice the core stuff before frameworks?

Wait, they taught you React before you could explain a for loop? That's like teaching someone to drive stick shift before they know where the gas pedal is. I swear these bootcamps just want you to build a fancy portfolio site full of hooks and state management while you can't even write a function that adds two numbers without looking it up. The whole thing is a scam to make you feel like you're learning fast so they can slap a "job ready" sticker on your forehead. Honestly, just go back to Codecademy or even those free YouTube playlists that drill you on variables and functions for hours before touching React. It's boring but at least you'll actually know what you're doing instead of pretending.

Started with freeCodeCamp's basic JavaScript playlist on YouTube before I even touched a framework. It was boring as hell but it saved me from feeling like an imposter when I finally got to React.
