Almost ruined my whole morning pour-over yesterday

I was at my kitchen counter doing my usual V60 routine and grabbed what I thought was my gooseneck kettle. Turns out my roommate had filled it with cold tap water instead of filtered water and I poured it straight over 30g of freshly ground beans. Had to dump the whole thing and start over, which sucked because I was already running late for my shift. Has anyone else had a housemate mess with their setup and throw off their whole brew?

Oh man I feel this so hard. My old roommate once put my V60 dripper through the dishwasher and it came out with this weird soapy residue smell that I didn't notice until after I poured my first cup. Took me forever to figure out why my coffee tasted like dishwasher detergent. I was so mad I almost cried because I had just dialed in that bag of Ethiopian beans perfectly. Did you ever find out why your roommate grabbed the wrong kettle or was it just one of those random careless things?

People just stop thinking the second something becomes routine, that's the real issue.
