Caved on buying a fancy grinder after my burrs gave up at 6am

I was solidly team blade grinder for years because it was cheap and I figured coffee is coffee. Then last Tuesday my old Hamilton Beach just started smoking and spraying chunks everywhere while I was half asleep in my kitchen in Portland. Panic ordered an Encore from the only shop open before my shift and honestly the difference in my morning pour over was so obvious I felt dumb for waiting. Anyone else have a gear failure that forced them to spend money they were avoiding?
