Grinder alignment took me 3 full weekends to figure out

Bought a used Mazzer Super Jolly off Craigslist. Thought I'd just swap the burrs and be done. Took me 4 hours of shimming with aluminum foil to get the burrs parallel. Another 2 weekends of pulling shots and adjusting. Still not sure I got it perfect. Anyone else fight with alignment on their grinder or just me?

Wait, you spent a full weekend just on burr alignment with aluminum foil? That is some next level dedication, I would have given up after the first Saturday for sure. Most people just hope their grinder is close enough and call it a day, but you went all in on it.

@lilyo30 did your friend ever get the foil shreds out of their grinder or did they just accept it as seasoning?
